What to expect to see here:
- Photos of cool classroom activities and field trips. Really it’s just for the fun we have at school.
Posted Nov. 17, 2023
In this first 'official' installment of the year, you will see our Bubbles activity (an activity based on focus), our popsicle stick bridge building challenge, a Remembrance Day Paper Ball Activity, and the day at Kaloya Park doing our Art Installations. I've tried to mix the feeling of a traditional classroom with blowing the walls off 'traditional'. I hope your child has talked about some of these activities at home. It would be really cool to have students sharing these things because of being genuinely excited about school. Fingers crossed.
Homework Expectations Let's keep finding ways to settle into this year, and one way is to understand my homework expectations.
I have asked each student to bring their binder home each day. I will assign booklets of work, but will give kids and parents heads up. I don't assign questions and pages due for certain days, if anything I'll assign a booklet due for a specific date. Again, this happens with at least a week's notice. While you wait for a firm due dates, if you see an unfinished math booklet, please feel free to tell your son or daughter they must do 30 minutes of math before...jumping on the trampoline, or...whatever works to have your child earn it. Messages will always be in their agenda first, then on the website especially if I really need parents to be clear of my expectations. Please don't check the website daily. I will have kids write in their agenda when there is something new here. As always, please touch base with an email ([email protected]) if you have questions about the progress of your child. I am managing 27 students on the go at once and try to keep parents in the loop so please reach out if you need to. Also, there is no need to check the website daily. Please look for a message in your child's agenda saying, "Please check class website". This way you'll know you're not missing anything by not checking for couple of days.

Bubbles: a lesson in self control
I absolutely love this activity! It is a lesson in self control. I blow bubbles all over the students but they are not allowed to pop them. Seriously! It's like giving your dog a pan of bacon grease and telling it him 'sit...wait...wait...'. This activity allows kids to feel it. I've been doing it for years and love it every single time! I have to say...I was really impressed with our little group.
